OS490 is a high contrast, white pigmented MEK based ink. OS490 was developed for a wide variety of dark substrates and can be piggybacked V490-C in the Videojet 1000 Line continuous inkjet printers. This ink is ideal for use in high-speed applications for a wide variety of substrates, especially dark plastics used in automotive, electronics, building materials, wire, and cable.

Applications for OS490
The OS490 ink is suitable for printing on acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), polyvinylchloride (PVC), polycarbonate, and polyester. This ink was specifically formulated for polyvinylchloride (PVC), polyethylene (PE), cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) wire and cable, ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) foam materials, and high molecular weight polyethylene (HMWPE) automotive parts and building materials. Wire and cable can be inkjet coded immediately after high-temperature extrusion (typically 200°C / 400°F) to achieve the best adhesion and transfer resistance. Other typical applications for this ink include: dark-colored plastic & glass bottles, metals cans, plastic rigid containers rubber, flexible tubing, PVC pipes.
This ink can withstand pre & post-processes as long as when printing the substrate is clean, dry and 1-2 minute curing is acceptable.
Targeted Industries of OS490
The OS490 ink is suitable for printing on flexible packaging films typically used in the tobacco and food packaging industries. It has excellent adhesion to coated plastic.
